Indian Summer Returns to the Beach At Anchors Bend with Headline Sets by The Parlor Mob and Band of Changes

Asbury Park, NJ—The Asbury Park Bazaar is partnering with Indian Summer to host the 4th annual Asbury Park Fall Bazaar and Indian Summer music festival at Convention Hall in Asbury Park on Saturday & Sunday, September 22-24, 2017. Held in partnership with The Asbury Park Boardwalk, the weekend event is a celebration of local art, music, makers and summer in Asbury Park.  This year, the festival will feature live bands performing on the beach and 40+ local and regional craft vendors inside the Grand Arcade of Convention Hall all weekend long, as well as overnight beach camping (from Sept. 23-24) and special food and drink offerings from The Anchor's Bend.

Indian Summer starts with a kick-off party on Friday night. Saturday will feature The Parlor Mob headlining the Beach Stage. The band has been an international sensation since their debut on Roadrunner Records but have always maintained their strong local roots in the Asbury Park music scene. And as direct support to the Parlor Mob, the return of the infamous Jersey City rock group, Rye Coalition! The band's major label drama (including their album produced by Foo Fighters front man, Dave Grohl) was featured in the movie "Rye Coalition: The Story of The Hard Luck Five". Other bands slated to play Saturday are: Miss TK & The Revenge, High Disciple, Star Spangles, Life Eaters, Sunshine & the Rain, The Tide Bends and The Morgan Freemasons.

Sunday's music program will host the return of The Band of Changes, Chris Harford's revolving cast of world-class musicians. This year, the band features Joe Russo on drums, Dave Dreiwitz on bass, Scott Metzger & Robbie Seahag on guitar. Following band of changes will be a Jam/Americana/Folk Sunday vibe out with Thomas Wynn & the Believers, Karmic Juggernaut, Michigander, Jackson Pines and Lowlight.

Asbury Park Bazaar, held in partnership with The Market Asbury Park, is a seasonal marketplace that holds pop up events featuring local and regional designers, makers and collectors in the Grand Arcade of Conventional Hall. Running from Noon-5 p.m. on Saturday & Sunday, September 23-24, the Asbury Park Fall Bazaar will have 40 independent vendors each day offering a curated selection of handmade jewelry and goods, vintage, art and photography, handcrafted furniture and home goods, fair trade certified and organic beauty products, and much more! Rethink Disposable, an initiative of Clean Water Action, is working with festival organizers to make the event as green as sustainable as possible. The goal is to reduce the amount of single-use disposable plastic and foam waste (like plastic straws and cups) - a huge source of trash that litters beaches, our ocean, and clogs storm drains and landfills. The Anchor's Bend is taking part in a Straws on Demand program and event-goers can purchase souvenir stainless steel cups and use all weekend for discounts on selected drinks.

The Asbury Park Bazaar is a seasonal pop up marketplace featuring designers, makers, artists and collectors in the Grand Arcade of Convention Hall in Asbury Park - a unique retail, dining and entertainment gem on the Jersey Shore. Our mission is to support handmade goods, cultivate small business, and craft a unique experience for vendors, shoppers and event-goers.The Bazaar began four years ago with one event and a few hundred in attendance. Today, almost 20 events are held with over 20,000 in attendance annually.

Indian Summer was started in 2014 by co-founders Colin Carhart and Joe Chyb in partnership with The Asbury Park Bazaar and The Asbury Park Boardwalk. Over the years the festival has grown from a party on the beach celebrating the end of summer, into a full-blown music festival. Complete with a massive vendor market, beach camping, art installations and demos, Indian Summer has become an immersive experience of some of the best Asbury Park has to offer. We hope you come celebrate “Locals Summer” with us, meet some new friends, find your new favorite shop or local artist, enjoy the beach and hear some of the best live music
